Description - What to expect
5-day Greece Climbing Itinerary◾ 1st day (Arrival day)
Meet your expert guide at the airport, board your minivan, and head for your first climbing experience in Greece, near Athens at the climbing crag of Simpligades in Penteli mountain.
Overnight in Athens.
◾ 2nd day Athens - Almiros city (Kofi climbing crag) 3 hours driving from Athens
You will visit the sector Ambelia with approximately 20 routes, most between 6b-6c. The climbing style varies. Most routes are vertical or slightly off-vertical, with the occasional dynamic move on small edges and even stalactites. After a long day, drive to the beautiful village of Makrinitsa on mount Pelion, near the city of Volos.
◾ 3rd day (Climbing around Pelion)
Today you will try climbing in several crags around the area of Makrinitsa. Enjoy the silence of the area and why not a refreshing swim in the crystal water of the parasitic Gulf? Overnight in Makrinitsa.
◾ 4th day. Agria - Kastraki (Meteora)
After breakfast, you will try two crags near the village of Agria. In the afternoon we drive to one of the most famous climbing places in Greece, Meteora. The rock climbing at Meteora consists of huge pinnacles and monasteries, with some of these monasteries actually located on top of the pinnacles. The routes here are a mixture between bolted and traditional (placing own protection) and vary between single-pitch and multi-pitch routes up to 285m long.
◾ 5th day. Climbing Meteora and return trip to Athens.
It's time to try our climbing skills on multi-pitch routes. Of course, we have to visit some of the monasteries and feel the holy spirit of the place. Drive back to Athens and drop off at your hotel or the airport.
