Description - What to expect
Begin your Tromso snowmobile tour with a comfortable bus ride from the city center. After a scenic 90-minute journey, you’ll reach the remote valley of Tamokdalen, where our wilderness camp is located.At Camp Tamok, you’ll be fully equipped with all the necessary gear, including a thermal suit, boots, gloves, and helmet. Before setting off, our expert guides will provide detailed safety instructions and driving tips, ensuring that everyone feels confident and ready for the adventure ahead.
Follow your guide along stunning Arctic trails on your Tromso snowmobile tour, riding past snow-covered mountains, valleys, frozen rivers, and glittering lakes. Each snowmobile is shared between two participants, giving you the chance to both drive and ride as a passenger. About halfway through the journey, we’ll take a short break to switch drivers, so everyone gets to experience the thrill of snowmobiling.
Once the tour is complete, return to camp where a warm meal will be waiting inside a traditional lavvu (indigenous Sámi tent). After some time to relax and enjoy the cozy atmosphere, it’s time to board the bus back to Tromsø, carrying with you unforgettable memories of an action-packed Tromso snowmobile tour in the Arctic wilderness.
Hard to choose between the daytime and evening trip? Daytime trips give you an amazing view of the untamed mountains of the Tamokdalen valley, while the evening trips give you a good opportunity to experience the Northern Lights.

◾You need to be minimum 18 years old and hold a valid driver's license to operate a snowmobile. Passengers need to be minimum 7 years old. Maximum one child per adult◾Drivers and passengers must be minimum 130cm in height to meet the safety requirements. Pregnant people are not allowed to participate in this tour.
◾During peak season, we might split the group to avoid large groups. Half of the group will start with a warm meal in the lavvu before heading out on their snowmobile tour.
◾The duration of the snowmobiling activity is about 1,5 hours. This can differ day to day, depending on snow and weather conditions.
◾Self-liability can be reduced to NOK 1000 by paying a waiver supplement of NOK 300 per snowmobile safari driver.
◾Evening tour at 17:00: Although this tour does not focus on chasing the northern lights, as we will venture into total darkness, we might get lucky and witness them while being out on the tour, adding an extra touch of magic to this evening adventure.
Health and safety
◾Participating in a snowmobiling tour typically requires a moderate level of physical fitness. You should be able to sit comfortably for extended periods and have sufficient strength and coordination to operate the snowmobile controls. Additionally, you should be prepared for outdoor weather conditions, which can be harsh and unpredictable during the Arctic winter. Temperatures often drop below freezing, with averages ranging from -10°C to -20°C.◾Please inform us in advance of any medical conditions or physical limitations, such as heart problems, back issues, or recent surgeries, as potential risk when participating in this activity.
◾Tromso snowmobile tour starting at 8.00 am (advanced ). Although this tour is designed for riders with experience, we will still review safety instructions and local driving regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable adventure. Drivers should have snowmobiling/quad bike/ motorbike driving experience
