Full-Day Adventure in Tamok Valley
Your full-day Arctic adventure begins with a scenic 1.5-hour bus ride from Tromsø to the remote Tamok Valley. Upon arrival, you’ll receive warm winter clothing and boots to ensure comfort throughout the day. Our friendly camp host will welcome you and introduce the program of exciting Tromsø activities ahead.

Daytime Activity
Based on your chosen experience (selected when booking), you’ll embark on one of the most popular Tromsø activities: dog sledding, snowmobiling, or reindeer sledding. After your adventure, warm up and recharge with a hearty hot meal served inside a cozy lavvu (traditional Sámi tent). While many visitors return to Tromsø after their daytime activity, your full-day package allows you to remain at Camp Tamok to enjoy both day and evening experiences.

Camp Stay
Between activities, take time to immerse yourself in the Arctic atmosphere. You can stroll around the camp’s beautiful surroundings, visit the dog yard, relax by the fire in a lavvu, play games, read, or share stories with fellow travelers. The camp’s large lavvu and main cabin are where the hot meals are served after your activities

Camp Tamok is located in an area with optimal conditions for experiencing the Northern Lights. Although Camp Tamok is located only a 90-minute drive from downtown Tromsø, it is in a different and drier climate zone, with clear inland mountain weather. The dry climate generates many cloud-free night skies in winter, as well as during summer

Good to know - practical information

◾ For this Tromso activities tour please wear warm winter clothing and in layers so you can adjust your clothing to the weather. We recommend bringing a scarf in cold weather
◾ The minimum height of participants required for the snowmobiling tour is 130 cm
Snowmobiling:
◾You need to be a minimum of 18 years old and hold a valid driver's license to operate a snowmobile. Passengers need to be a minimum of 7 years old. Available from the 10th of December
◾Advanced Dog Sledding: Minimum age: 16 y/o, Recommended maximum age: 65 y/o, Pregnant people are not allowed to participate in this tour. Weight limit: 120kg. Available from the 1st of December
◾Dietary Requirements: Please inform us of any food allergies or dietary restrictions upon booking. If no notice is given in advance, an extra fee of 150 NOK will be charged.
◾Advanced Dog Sledding: Our guides are entitled to deny drivers and passengers to join this tour for health and safety reasons. The tour requires strength and fitness from all our guests, and a good physical condition is necessary to participate. Some parts of the trail can be covered with a fresh layer of snow or go uphill which means in both cases you will have to help the dogs to push the sled.
◾Snowmobiling & Reindeer Sledding Evening: These tours are not focused on chasing the Northern Lights, but they offer a great chance to witness this natural phenomenon.
