Description - What to expect
Get picked up in the morning from your hotel in Rovaniemi and head to cross the border in Sweeden and reach the coastal town of Kalix which is your departure point for your icebreaker cruise. Climb onboard the spectacular White Icebreaker and have a unique experience of the sea being covered with solid white ice. Listen to the sound of crackling ice, as crushed ice blocks rise below the icebreaker hull.During the icebreaker cruise, enjoy the striking scenery, walk on the ice sea and learn how to wear floating suits. Take a dip into the icy ocean, but stay dry and warm in your survival suit. Listen from your guide to the icebreaker’s history and learn about the ancient Viking history in the area.
After the cruise enjoy a traditional meal of Swedish meatballs at the border town of Haparanda before you are driven back to your hotel in Rovaniemi.
