Bhutan tour Itinerary

◾ Day 1: Fly to Paro, explore Thimphu
Start your Bhutan tour with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in Kathmandu and then a transfer to the airport to board your plane and fly 1-hour to Paro. A spectacular descent through mountainous valleys brings you into the Kingdom of Bhutan. Once in Paro, your local guide will be waiting for you and after clearing customs and visa control you will be transferred to your hotel.

A short picturesque drive about 2 hours along the valley brings you to the capital of Bhutan, Thimpu. After lunch, start your tour with a visit to the Textile Museum, a traditional paper-making factory, and then the post office to see Bhutan’s beautiful stamps depicting the country’s myths, traditions, and culture. This part of your tour is fully customizable and you may choose a different and more leisurely itinerary.
Overnight at your hotel. Meals: Lunch and Dinner

◾ Day 2: Thimphu, Takstang, Paro
Start your day with breakfast and then drive to Satsam Chorten for a hike to the famous Takstang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery, built around a cave where Guru Rimpoche (also known as Guru Padmasambhava) meditated. The legend has it that Guru Rimpoche is said to have flown to the site of the monastery on the back of a tigress from Tibet and meditated in the cave for three months. The view of the monastery is worth the steep 1.5 hours walk up a wide mountain path. After lunch, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan.
