Your John O'Groats tour departs Inverness and travels north, up through to Loch Fleet where you might be able to spot some seals and a range of birds – make sure you have your camera ready! Continue your John O’Groats tour to the village of Golspie. The village, situated on the North Sea coast is nestled next to Ben Bhraggie and is an attractive little seaside resort, with long sandy beaches. Spend time here for refreshments before we journey on to Dunrobin Castle.A stately home in Sutherland, Dunrobin Castle is the family seat of Clan Sutherland. It resembles a French chateau with its towering spires and it overlooks the Moray Firth. You'll have time here to explore the beautiful stately home, gardens & museum and enjoy some refreshments in their tearoom.
Before reaching John O’Groats continue further into the North Highlands through Helmsdale to the Highland town of Wick for your lunch stop. A former Viking settlement, Wick is the principal town in the far north of mainland Scotland. Spend time exploring the town, enjoying views across Wick Bay, whilst you enjoy your lunch.
After your visit to Wick, travel to John O’Groats, the most northerly point on British mainland. Here you’ll be able to stroll along the cliff path, take your iconic photo at the signpost, enjoy dramatic coastal views and perhaps see some local wildlife. John O’Groats is one of the best places in the UK to see Atlantic puffins, you might also see some grey seals or even an orca!
From John O’Groats, begin to make your way back to Inverness. Travel to Dunbeath Harbour for photos, and to Brora, famous for its golf courses and magnificent coastal scenery before your John O’Groats tour returns home to Inverness.
