Salzburg Highlights Tour Itinerary

◾ Mirabell Palace
Start your Salzburg highlights experience from Mirabell Palace, build in 1606 at the behest of Prince-Archbishop Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau. Today’s magnificent Baroque appearance of the palace dates back to remodeling in the 1720s. you'll be guided through the historical part of the city on the left side of the Salzach river, passing one of the most famous music academies in the world - the Mozarteum and Mozart's Residence.

◾ Mozart’s Residence
This Salzburg Highlights tour takes you past the building that the famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart called his home for eight years of his life. The Mozart family moved into the so-called “Dance Master’s House” in 1781. Today, the building houses the Mozart Residence Museum, operated by the Mozarteum Foundation.

◾ Salzburg Festival District
Crossing the Staatsbrücke and passing through the center of the Baroque old town, the bus takes you to the Festival District. Despite its name, the Salzburg Festival District is not an official district of the city. It rather refers to the area of the historic city center where several venues of the Salzburg Festival are congregated, namely the Large Festival Hall, the Summer Riding School and the House for Mozart.

Every year since 1920 the Salzburg Festival takes place over a period of 6 weeks in July and August. The Festival stages various opera, concert, and drama performances with the scene’s most famous names.
