Melissourgos mountain shelter is set amid dense fir forest overlooking the high elevation picks of Tzoumerka mountains, the highest of them called Kakarditsa, 2429m. The refuge consists of five dorms, some of them sleeping five guests while others are sleeping ten guests each. Each dorm features an independent bathroom. There is a cozy commonplace with a stone-built fireplace, where guests can enjoy the warmth of the fire, especially during the cold nights of winter, as well as have their breakfasts and dinners. There is available free Wi-Fi. During the summer months, the place is ideal for camping amid the surrounding fir forests.

The refuge restaurant operates from early in the morning until late at night, providing the guests full boarding service. Melissourgos Refuge is the ideal place for exploring the mountain of Tzoumerka with numerous hiking trails. On request, outdoor activities can be organized for the guests that want a more active experience during their stay.
