Description - What to expect

Your day tour begins at 8.20 am from Athens Central Railway Station. Relax and enjoy your trip to Kalambaka, a small town built at the foot of majestic grey rocky cliffs crowned by the monasteries of Meteora, which have been listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Around 13:30 pm the train arrives in Kalambaka train station where your guide will be waiting for you holding a signboard with your name.

Immediately after your arrival you are going to embark on a 3.5-hour tour of the six centuries-old monasteries and have a close look at two of them, getting to know about their history and the monastic life of the monks. Along the way, you will admire stunning views of the cliff-suspended monasteries and the amazing Kalambaka valley beneath.

At the end of the day, you’ll be transferred back to Kalambaka, and you’ll have some time to explore the town and enjoy a light lunch before you are taken back to Kalambaka's train station to catch your train back to Athens at 5:30 pm.
