Description - What to expect

This ice fishing trip is by Snowmobile, and you will ride in the sled. Your fisherman/guide will pick you up at your hotel, and take you on a 15-minute ride to the Snowhotel Kirkenes camp outside Kirkenes. Your guide will help you dress and give you security instructions, before getting on the snowmobile sled.

Then the journey starts and you will drive out on the fjord ice to find the best ice fishing spots. Once you arrive at the fishing spot, your fishing guide will drill a hole through the thick ice as you prepare your fishing gear. Then all that remains is to sink your line through the fjord ice and wait for the bite.

In the fjord there are numerous types of fish, we have even caught salmon! But the most common catch is cod - Norway's number one fish and as important to the economy as oil or hydropower. If you are lucky, your guide will cook your catch after the tour. After the ice fishing tour, your driver will take you back to your hotel in Kirkenes.
