Description - What to expect
Kenya safari itineraryKenya safari day 1. Nairobi – Masai Mara
Your 5-day Kenya safari starts with a pick-up from your Nairobi hotel and a drive towards the Masai Mara Game Reserve with a stop at the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley. You will arrive in time for lunch and the afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Kenya Safari day 2. Masai Mara game drives
Wake up to a cup of tea or coffee followed by an early morning pre-breakfast game drive at 6.00 am. Return to the lodge for breakfast, followed by another game drive. All the Big Five animals may be seen, namely elephants, buffalo, lions, rhinos, and leopard. You will be having lunch at the lodge before a leisure break during which you can visit a local Maasai village. Wind up the day with a late afternoon game drive. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Kenya safari day 3. Masai Mara – Nakuru town
Early morning pre-breakfast game drive. Upon your return, enjoy your breakfast before departing for the beautiful Nakuru town. Along the way, you will have a picnic lunch. Mt Longonot and Lake Naivasha can be seen from afar on the main highway. Dinner and overnight at the lodge in Nakuru.
Kenya safari day 4. Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, head towards Lake Nakuru National Park for a game drive to admire a fantastic array of bird life including flamingos, white pelicans, and marabou stork, all water birds that breed in the lake’s alkaline waters. You may spot a white rhino and the rare Rothschild’s giraffe that has five horns instead of the usual three and clear instead of spotted shanks. A visit to the baboon cliff offers a scenic panorama of the lake below, surrounded by a vast tract of euphorbia and acacia forest. Makalia falls within the park are an additional attraction. After lunch, drive to Lake Naivasha for dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Kenya safari day 5. Lake Naivasha – Nairobi
After breakfast, take an excursion by boat to the crescent island private game Sanctuary where you can walk among small herds of plain game. You will have your lunch in Naivasha before your departure for Nairobi, expected to arrive in the evening.
