  • Meeting pointThe farm is located about 1 km from the main road from Volos to Ali Meria (Άλλη Μεριά). After you cross Volos ring road you will see a sign "Μάρμαρα Ιωάννου". You turn to your left immediately after this establishment and you follow the signs until you see the farm (with a large warm house in it) to your left. Alternatively, we can come and pick you at the Junction on the main road to Ali Meria
  • Who can comeOur garden is accessible to persons in a wheelchair. There is no age restriction

Overview

We call ourselves Eliotropia (sunflowers). We are a cooperative established in 2001 and our main objective is to create space and explore our limits, both physical and mental. In fact, we believe we have no limits. We see our disabilities as challenges to overcome and we have learned to enjoy and live life to the fullest. In our cooperative farm, at the outskirts of Volos, we have created a wonderful garden and among others, we welcome groups of children to teach them about the healing properties of herbs and engage with them creatively in planting and harvesting from our garden.

Description - What to expect

We will show you around our Greenhouse and our herbal plants garden. We will experiment with different scents to discover if we can identify their origins and together we will plant seedlings.



We will have a tour in the garden to see the beautiful sculptures exhibited and depending on the age of participants learn how to make simple jewellery for you and your friends. We will finally observe the Sun from our small planetarium and get to know about the planets of our Solar System and our galaxy.

What's included, what's not

At the end of the workshop, we will offer you a small plant planted by yourselves
Sandwiches and refreshments can be provided optionally
Transportation to and from the garden should be arranged by you
