Description - What to expect
Start your Muyil birdwatching with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in Tulum and then drive about 20 minutes south of the city to enjoy an incredible diversity of bird species, learn about the current Maya culture and the ancient Maya civilization and explore the village and archaeological site of Muyil.
See different habitats in the village with different types of vegetation: mature semi-deciduous jungle in the archaeological site of Muyil and some freshwater wetlands as you walk through the flooded jungle using a boardwalk until you reach a lagoon. On this Muyil Birdwatching tour, it is possible to identify up to 80 species of birds (depending on the time of the year).
Add an optional boat trip across two lagoons and a lazy river floating experience and sail in a truly unique setting, listening to the sounds of nature, among mangroves, orchids & bromeliads. A calming experience like nothing you have experienced before.
