Description - What to expect

Your Tromso Reindeer sledding experience starts with a pick-up at Samuel Arnesens gate 7, and then a 90-minute drive through the spectacular arctic landscape until you reach Camp Tamok which is the start and endpoint of your adventure.

You will be given comfortable outdoor clothing and boots to keep warm during your stay. A Sami guide will meet and greet you upon arrival, and bring you to the reindeer herd, which will be eager to pull your sleigh. You will be driving in pairs with one reindeer pulling each sleigh. All you need to do is make yourself comfortable, sit back, and enjoy the magical scenery.

Daytime trips give you an amazing view of the wild mountains in the area, while evening trips, usually between November and March, will give you a good opportunity to experience the Northern Lights. After sledding on the snow take time back to a warm and cozy lavvu (Sami tent) where there will be a bonfire to keep you warm and learn more about the Sami people and their fascinating culture.

You will also try lasso-throwing, the way by which the Sami herders still catch their reindeer when they are rounded up for marking and even feed them with your hands. Before your departure enjoy a hot meal in the spacious dining lavvu.
