Description - What to expect

Start your Tromso dog sledding adventure with a pickup from Tromsø city center, outside the Scandic Ishavshotel and then drive to Breivikeidet through incredible arctic landscapes including fjords, snow-capped mountains, waterfalls, and picturesque villages.

Upon arrival at our camp in Breivikeidet, situated in a picturesque valley close to the sea, you will be welcomed by your friendly staff. You will be provided with polar-insulated suits, boots, hats, and mittens before heading out on the Tromso dog sledding adventure. Your guide will go through the safety instructions and show you the basics of driving the sled. You don’t need any previous experience.

After listening carefully to the demonstration and a few minutes of practice, you’ll enjoy driving on the open fields and inside the forest trails. Two people will share one sled: one as a driver and the other one as a passenger, and you will get the chance to swap places halfway through the tour, so everyone gets to experience the life of a dog musher, but also have time take all the photographs they want.

After your dog sledding ride and arriving back at the camp, you are invited into our lavvo (a traditional Sami tent), where you can enjoy a hot drink and cake around the campfire. Once you changed back to your normal clothes, and waved one last goodbye to the huskies, it is time to board back the bus to Tromsø.
