Description - What to expect
Your private Maipo Canyon - horse riding tour starts with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in Santiago and a two-hour drive into the Andes Mountains at a ranch in a small town on the banks of the Maipo River. The ranch has more than 25 years of experience in outdoor activities with 8,000 acres of mountain ranges, valleys, springs, and waterfalls.Enjoy a fun horse ride guided by “arrieros” (local cowboys) taking in the stunning views and admiring the abundant flora and fauna from horseback. You will climb narrow mountain trails and have a short break on a plateau while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. You may even see some amazing Chilean condors flying high in the sky.
When your horse riding experience is over, you will have time for lunch (not included) followed by a visit to the famous Concha y Toro Wine Vineyard in the picturesque town of Pirque for a tour and wine tasting. The winery dates back to 1883 when its founder Don Melchor Concha y Toro brought the first vines from the Bordeaux region in France to Chile that grew prosperously in the Maipo River basin. Walk around the gardens of the summer residence of the Concha y Toro family, visit their cellars, and taste a selection of three of their fine wines.

Good to know - practical information
◾ The minimum age for horseback riding is 12 years old. The maximum individual weight is 100 kilos (220 lbs). Please keep in mind that this is a mountain horseback ride. There are segments of the trail that are steep and narrow in both going up and down from the summit. This may be uncomfortable for those who have a fear of heights. If you would prefer a trail that is less steep – but does not reach the summit – please tell us during your booking. Also, if at any point during the ride you feel uncomfortable, you always have the option to get off the horse and walk down the trail◾ Although this is a private tour with your own vehicle and guide, there may be others joining you horseback riding and at the vineyard
◾ This tour is available daily (weather permitting). Concha y Toro Vineyard is closed on January 1, Good Friday, May 1, September 18-19, and December 25. On these dates, a wine tasting picnic will be offered
◾ An alternative vineyard will be visited if Concha y Toro does not have availability on the date selected
