Meet your instructor and tour guide and start your Athens bike tour by heading to Plato’s Academy, founded in 387 BC. The Academy of Plato was founded in 387 BC. The great philosopher taught there until the end of his life. It is now one of the largest parks in Athens and it offers moments of relaxation and peace right in the heart of the city. Then pedal through the one-of-a-kind area of Metaxourgeio before arriving at Syntagma Square, to see the Town Hall, the Varvakios market, and the biggest fish, meat, and spices market in Athens.
Next to your Athens bike tour, explore the so-called trilogy of neoclassical buildings, the Academy, University, and the National Library. At Syntagma Square, you will see the impressive Greek Parliament before riding through the National Gardens towards the Panathenaic Stadium, also known as Kallimarmaro. This is where the first modern Olympics took place back in 1896.
