Your Tromso reindeer tour starts with a convenient pick-up from Tromso city center, and then a 25-minute drive to the reindeer ranch, a traditional farm located in Tromso’s frozen wastelands. On arrival, your local guide will introduce you to the traditional Sami lifestyle and culture and will make sure that you get a glimpse of life in the Arctic.Your experience starts with a reindeer feeding session. Get amazed by the friendly animals as they swarm around you and eat straight from your hands. Then, get invited inside a traditional gamme (local hut) and enjoy some hot drinks (coffee, tea, or hot chocolate) and a traditional Sami soup, cooked over the fire (vegetarian option available).
Gather around the fire at a traditional Sami lavuu (tent) and listen to stories about Samis' lifestyle and their heritage before you watch an impressive performance of a traditional joik (song). The Tromso reindeer tour concludes with a 25-minute ride back to the city.
