Join an authentic Chiang Mai cooking class and learn to cook traditional Thai dishes such as Hot and Sour Soup (Tom Yam), Thai Stir Fried with Rice Noodle (Pad Thai), Mango Sticky Rice (Khao Niao Mamuang), and the popular green and red curry. After your cooking class sit down and enjoy your creations with the rest of the group.

Description - What to expect

Take a small-group Chiang Mai cooking class and learn how to prepare authentic Thai dishes using fresh ingredients from a local market and an organic garden. You can choose between a half-day class during the morning or the evening and cook five dishes, or try the full-day class to cook an extra two courses!

Your Chiang Mai cooking class starts with a pick-up from your hotel within Chiang Mai and a drive to the cooking class school. meet up with the rest of your group and choose what you want to cook from the menu. Follow your instructor to the local market to buy the necessary ingredients, and tour an organic farm loaded with fresh fruits and vegetables.

Then, head to the classroom and follow the instructions of your professional English-speaking guide as you cook a variety of authentic Thai meals such as mango sticky rice, pad thai, and curry, and make curry paste on your own. At the end of your Chiang Mai cooking class sit down and enjoy the meal you have prepared with the rest of the group before you head back to your hotel.

Chiang Mai cooking class itinerary (morning session)

◾ 8:30-9:00 am: Pick-up from your hotel (Please wait at the Lobby)
◾ 9:15 am: Visit the local market. Our instructors will introduce various ingredients and seasonings
◾ 10:00 am: Arrival at Grandma's Home Cooking School. Refreshing drinks and welcome snacks are waiting for you
◾ 10:20 am: Begin the class and learn how to cook rice and sticky rice
◾ 10:35 am: Your instructor will guide you to the organic farm while explaining Thai herbs and vegetables. Enjoy collecting chicken eggs and some fresh ingredients
◾ 11:00 am: Soup and Stir-fried session with tasting
◾ 12:00 pm: Curry session with tasting. For dessert and refreshments, your instructor will demonstrate how to make dessert and special refreshments step-by-step, and let's enjoy tasting together
◾ 1:30-1:45 pm: Leave the cooking school (Back to the city around 2.00 pm - 2. 30 pm)

Please note: The afternoon cooking class starts at 4.00 pm. In the full-day cooking class, you will be cooking 5 dishes, a special menu, plus an extra menu
