Description - What to expect

After being picked up from Tromso city center, you’ll board a coach for a 25-minute drive to the reindeer camp, a traditional farm placed in Tromso’s frozen wastelands. On arrival, your local guide will introduce you to the traditional Sami lifestyle and culture and will make sure that you get a glimpse of life in the Arctic.

Your Tromso reindeer sledding experience starts with a reindeer feeding session. After getting used to these noble creatures, you’ll board a sled for an exciting sledding ride of approximately 15-20 minutes, enjoying the magnificent landscape around the frozen valley and the starlit sky.

After all of the action, you will have time to warm up and relax tasting steaming coffee, tea, or hot chocolate inside a warm candlelit gamme (Traditional Sami Hut). Your hosts will have prepared a traditional three-course meal for you to enjoy while listening to stories derived from ancient Sami culture. However, the authentic Sami experience wouldn't be complete without the chance to enjoy a Joik performance, a traditional Sami folk song.

On a clear night, you might be lucky enough to catch the majestic northern light above the reindeer camp. The tour concludes with a 25-minute ride back to central Tromso.
